During her babyhood the family spent a few years in North Carolina. When she was a five-year-old child, her father moved to the Sedley neighborhood, where her bright and attractive girlhood and strong womanhood have been a blessing to the neighborhood ever since. As a girl in her teens she gave her heart to Jesus and unite with Black Creek Baptist church and was a conscientious member thereof at the time of her death. She was united in marriage with Tazewell J. Blythe November 28, 1904, and more than eighteen years were spent happily together. This home was blessed with six children and as a mother Anna Blythe was careful that her children be provided not only with the physical necessities of life, but she was especially anxious that they do well in school, and that the school should be able to rightly develop them. She was intensely interested in their spiritual development as well, and was glad to give them to the cradle roll of the Sunday school and associate membership of the church. She passed to meet her Savior March 22, 1923, aged 36 years, 8 months, 29 days. So had passed the life of a worthy woman. Through necessity a life kept rather closely at home, yet of a positive influence, an influence that cannot be narrowed for her character has been indelibly stamped upon the lives of her children and through them will naturally widen out as the years roll on. Whatever her finished work may be, we can readily adopt the words of our Master in speaking of one of the beautiful and lovely characters of his close acquaintance when He said, "She hath done what she could." Funeral services were held at Friend’s Church, Sedley, Friday, the 23rd, at 2:30, conducted by Nathan Pickett, with Rev. C.L. Eubank of Black Creek Baptist Church delivering the funeral sermon.
