He was the son of the late Robert and Nettie Joyner Blythe of Franklin. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Deane Wilson Blythe, and one daughter, Susan Ann Blythe of Richmond; six sisters, Mrs. Kate Saunders of Richmond, Mrs. Claude Dunn of Prince George, Mrs. Julian Harrison of Norfolk, Mrs. Morris Clements of Brandon, Mrs. Graham Atkins and Mrs. Herman Cobb of Franklin; five brothers, Bernard, Herman and Harwood Blythe of Franklin, Percy Blythe of Hopewell and Ashby Blythe of Norfolk; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service was conducted at the L.H. Christian Funeral Home in Richmond by the Rev. Stuart Grizzard of the Montross Baptist Church on Monday at 10 a.m. A graveside service was held in the afternoon in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by the Rev. R.E. Brittle of Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk.
