He was the husband of Mrs. Etta Blythe and the son of the late William and Mrs. Margaret Ann Rose Blythe, and was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William Irvin Blythe and a daughter, Mrs. Larry Overby, both of Franklin; one brother, James Blythe of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Martha June Womble of Franklin and Mrs. Thomas W. Blythe of Sedley; two granddaughters, one grandson, and four nephews. Funeral services were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Hunterdale Christian Church by the pastor, Rev. Joe E. French, assisted by Rev. Melvin Dollar, pastor of Rosemont Christian Church in South Norfolk, and Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were R.H. Joyner, Reginald Kitchen, Arthur Smith, Rommie Green, J.G. Joyner, Jr., S.M. Joyner, Marvin Whitley and C. Morris Blythe.
