All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JESSE MOODY BLYTHE Jesse Moody Blythe, 73, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Southampton County, died suddenly in his room in the Stonewall Hotel on Friday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. He was the son of Robert Lee Blythe and Rebecca Scott Blythe of Southampton County and a member of the Bethel Friends Meeting. Surviving his are two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Holland and Mrs. Jennie Joyner, both of Suffolk, and four nieces. The body was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland and Sons, where funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. James A. Coney of Sedley, minister of the Bethel Friends Meeting. Burial was in the Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Isaac White, Hersey Scott, Mr. J.R. Collier, Steve ----*, R.R. Lankford and Randolph Griffin. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers.
