Mrs. Blythe was a native of Nansemond County and was a daughter of the late Clement and Eva Carr Harrell. She was a member of South Quay Baptist Church, Holland Home Demonstration Club and the High Street Senior Citizens. Mrs. Blythe's greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jessie "Buck" deBordenave Blythe; a daughter, Edith Blythe Warren and her husband, Mike, of Suffolk; three sons, Marion deBordenave Blythe and his wife, Christine, of Suffolk, Jesse Clement Blythe and his wife, Jane, of Heathsville and Beverly Lee Blythe and his wife, Wanda, of Franklin; a sister, Goldie Mae Wright of Suffolk; three brothers, Hayes Harrell and Clinton Harrell of Suffolk and Earl Harrell of Portsmouth; two sisters-in-law, Trixie Harrell of Portsmouth and Mildred Harrell of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren, Marion Darrell Blythe, Ronald Dwayne Blythe and his wife, Beth, Shawn Dean Blythe and his wife, Angela, Scott Blough and his wife, Jeannie, John Christopher Blythe and his wife, Lynne, Kimberly Sue Blythe, Brandy Michelle Warren, Nathaniel Michael Warren, Michael Bryant and his wife, Kristie, and Kristy Bryant; five great-grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Blythe, Jacob Christian Blythe, Brandon Reid Blythe, Joshua Bryant and Seth Bryant; a special friend and sister-in-law, Aldine B. Duck of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Blythe was predeceased by four brothers and a sister, Sidney Harrell, Emmett Harrell, Walter Harrell and Staley Harrell and Katherine Crocker. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Louis Venable and the Rev. Hershel Hill officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the home of Marion and Christine Blythe at 10348 Wildwood Drive, Suffolk.
