All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ NELLIE JANE BLYTHE Miss Nellie Jane Blythe, 78, daughter of the late Robert and Mrs. Rebecca Scott Blythe of the county, died at her home near Courtland about 6:30 o’clock on Friday evening, May 23, after a brief illness. The deceased was a member of the Bethel Friends Meeting. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lillian E. Holland of Suffolk and Mrs. Jennie S. Joyner of Sedley; one brother, Jesse M. Blythe of Courtland; and four nieces, one great-nephew and two great-nieces. Funeral rites were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock by Revs. James Coney and Melvin Dollar. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the active pallbearers being Edgar Blythe, Marvin Collier, George Evans, Randolph Griffin, Steve Hornok, R.R. Lankford, J.D. Owen and Russell Owen.
