Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Robert Howell, Vaughan Beale, Rupert Tart, Dr. Irwin McNeely, Dr. William Thornhill, Warren Councill, Frank Averett and J.P. Bradshaw. Blythe, 52, painting contractor and designer, died Wednesday in his home. A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Clara Smith Blythe and a son of the late Mallory B. and Mrs. Rosa Cobb Blythe. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Other survivors are a daughter, Miss Anita Faye Blythe, and a son Philip Wayne Blythe, both of Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Harvey A. Lankford and Mrs. Bennie Carr of Franklin and Mrs. James Corbitt of Newport News; and four brothers, Mallory Blythe, Luther W. Blythe, and Cecil Blythe of Franklin and Howard Blythe of Carrsville. CONTRACTOR OF FRANKLIN DIES Philip Wayne Blythe Sr., 52, a prominent painting contractor and designer for the past twenty-two years, died in his home of Wednesday, July 19. He was a life-long resident of the Franklin community. He was an active member of the Franklin Baptist Church, Brunner Bible Class and Hunterdale Ruritan Club. He was the husband of Mrs. Clara Smith Blythe and a son of the late Mallory B. and Mrs. Rosa Cobb Blythe. Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Philip Wayne Blythe Jr. of Richmond, and a daughter, Miss Anita Faye Blythe of Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Harvey A. Lankford Sr., Mrs. Bennie R. Carr of Franklin and Mrs. James H. Corbitt of Newport News; four brothers, Luther W. Blythe, Cecil Blythe, Howard Blythe and M.B. Blythe Jr. all of Franklin.
