Blythe, Sr., died Sunday at her home after a long illness. She was the daughter of Newitt and Mrs. Martha Webster Cobb of Southampton County. She was a member of Bethel Friends Meetings House and the Friends Guild Society. Surviving are five sons, Luther W. Blythe, Cecil Blythe, Phillip Wayne Blythe, Howard Blythe and Mallory Blythe, Jr., all of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Bertha B. Lankford and Mrs. Bennie R. Carr, both of Franklin, and Mrs. James Corbitt, Newport News; 21 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Martha Griffin, Franklin, and one half- brother, Samuel Cobb, Franklin. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. James Coney, retired pastor of Bethel Friends Meeting House. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac C. White, Exum N. White, Linwood Ricks, Lee Moorman White, Chester W. Burgess, Jr. and Dr. T.A. Morgan.
