Gayle. Mrs. Blythe was a native of Bertie County, N.C. She was the widow of Thomas Algie Blythe and a daughter of Benjamin J. and Mrs. Elizabeth Baker Burkett. She was a member of Grace Memorial Methodist Church and its Woman’s Society of Christian Service. Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. John R. Simms, Jr. and Mrs. Sam Turner; one son, T.A. Blythe, Jr. of Emporia; four sisters, Mrs. C.E. Shoulders and Mrs. J.L. Reynolds of Roxobell, N.C., Mrs. P.C. Dickson of Kelford, N.C. and Mrs. D.C. Bryant of Norfolk; one brother, J.B. Burkett of Norfolk; the three grandchildren. A funeral service was held in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. E. Stephen Babcock, pastor of Grace Memorial Methodist Church. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Pallbearers were Bernard Smith, L.O. Drake, K.G. Howell, N.W. Wills, Jack W. Hundley and Frank Hundley.
