SARA ELIZA SCREWS BLYTHE 

   FRANKLIN - Mrs. Sarah* Eliza Screws Blythe, 76, died early Sunday morning 
in her home after a long illness.

   A native of Southampton County she was a daughter of James and Mrs. Mary 
Elizabeth Whitehead Screws and the widow of Lonnie Blythe.  She was a member 
of Hunterdale Congregational Christian Church.

   A former resident of Franklin.  She had made her home for the last several 
years with her daughter, Mrs. Wilson R. Johnson of Portsmouth.

   She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Elvin J. Story of Boykins; a son, 
James L. Blythe of Franklin; and nine grandchildren.

   A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of 
W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in Franklin by the Rev. H.W. Tribble of 
Hunterdale Congregational Christian Church.  Burial was in the Blythe family 
cemetery near Franklin.

   Pallbearers were  Robert Hollowell, Cary Blythe, M.B. Blythe, J.C. Joyner, 
Jr., Raymond Porter, Howard Blythe, Edgar Blythe, Edward Blythe and Meredith 
Raiford.
