All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ TAZEWELL JULIAN BLYTHE Tazewell Julian Blythe, 75, well known carpenter and farmer, died at his home near Franklin on Tuesday, November 23, after a week's illness. The deceased was born in Southampton County, the son of the late Albert and Nancy Cobb Blythe. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Ann Stith, who died in March, 1922. In 1927 he married Mrs. Cora Carr Beale of the county, who survives him. He was a member of the Sedley Friends Meeting. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Fenton E. Blythe of Richmond and T.J. Blythe, Jr., of Franklin; four daughters, Miss Minnie Blythe of Suffolk, Mrs. Lawrence R. Barker of Petersburg, and Miss Gladys Blythe and Mrs. J.E. Boone of Franklin; four step-daughters, Mrs. Percy A. Whitley of Franklin, Mrs. W.E. Senter of Lynnhaven, Mrs. W.T. Langston of Highland Springs, and Mrs. W.D. Newlin of Arlington; two brothers, Benjamin Blythe of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Thomas A. Blythe of Sedley; and three sisters, Mrs. J.J. Bradshaw of Hunterdale, Mrs. P.L. Travis of Richmond, and Mrs. Mary Wyatt of Roanoke. Final rites for Mr. Blythe were held in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with interment in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Rev. James A. Coney of the Sedley Friends Meeting officiated, assisted by Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. The pallbearers were L.E. Beale, R.P. Barrett, George Brock, A.C. Carr, A.E. Drewry, E.A. Drewry, H.M. Lowe and J.T. Pond.
