Blankenship was conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. Robert E. Davis. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.G. Joyner Jr., Steve Hornok, Stanley Johnson, Edgar Blythe, Arthur Smith, marvin Whitley, J.R. Cobb and R.H. Joyner. Blankenship, 65, died Friday morning in a hospital. A native of Russell County, N.C., he was a son of William H. and Mrs. Laura Fields Blankenship and the husband of Mrs. Eugene Scott Blankenship. He was a honorary deacon of Hunterdale Christian Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Earl D. Blankenship, Jr. of Franklin and William H. Blankenship of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Magazu of Mickleton, N.J.; a brother, Charles C. Blankenship of Moncks Corner, S.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Burke Garrell of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Grace Ford of Columbia, S.C. and Mrs. Jessie Dennis of Charleston, S.C.; and five grandchildren.
