RAYMOND ALTON BALLARD

Raymond Alton (Pete) Ballard, 71, died early Friday morning in Southampton 
Memorial Hospital.  He is the husband of Mrs. Nellie Nurney Ballard and a 
native of Isle of Wight County.  He was a member of Newsomes United Methodist 
Church and Newsomes Ruritan Club.  He was a retired merchant and farmer.  
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Raymond A. Ballard, Jr., of 
Franklin and two granddaughters, Alison Hughes and Ann Marie Ballard, both of 
Franklin.  A graveside service will be held Saturday at 5 P.M. in Riverside 
Cemetery, Courtland by the Rev. Arthur Green.  Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, 
in charge of arrangments.
