All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ANTOINETTE CRUMPLER BOONE A large gathering of old friends assembled in Poplar Spring Cemetery yesterday morning at 11 o’clock for the funeral of Mrs. John Vann Boone of Norfolk, who died in that city Tuesday morning. Mrs. Boone was a native of this county and for many years a resident of Franklin. She was before her marriage Miss Antoinette Crumpler of the well-known Southampton family of that name, moving to Norfolk about eight years ago. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. H.E. Valentine of Lawrenceville and Mrs. Margaret B. Matthews of Norfolk; four sons, Lloyd G. Boone of Roanoke, J. Vann Boone of Vidalia, Ga., Thomas D. and Joe Gay Boone, both of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. W.H. Dabney of Virginia Beach, ten grandchildren and two nieces. Services for Mrs. Boone were conducted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Franklin Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Dr. L.W. Strickler, pastor of the First Lutheran Church of Norfolk. Burial was made in the family plot here, the pallbearers being: J. Edgar Moyler, Franklin Edwards, Cecil Vaughan, 3rd, P.R. Camp, Howard Waff of Norfolk and Sheriff H.E. Valentine of Lawrenceville.
