All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARTHA AGNES POND BAIN Mrs. Aggie Pond Bain, widow of Lee John Bain, died at the residence in Capron on Tuesday afternoon, August 31. Mrs. Bain had been ill health for several months. At the time of her death she was 81 years of age. Coming to Capron as a young bride, Mrs. Bain had lived in that town for 57 years. She was a member of the Capron Methodist Church and of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service, and she had taught the beginners’ class in the Sunday School for 55 years. She was also an active member of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union of Southampton County. She is survived by two sons, Harry Lee Bain of Capron and J. Franklin Bain of Albany, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Elliott Richardson of Urbana; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Charles F. Heiner of New York City, Harry Lee Bain, Jr., and Miss Sarah Elizabeth Bain of Capron, Charles, Sam and Agnes Richardson of Urbana, and John Bain of Albany, Ga.; one great-grandson, Franklin Bain Heiner of New York City; and one brother, John W. Pond of Wakefield. Funeral services were conducted from the residence Thursday afternoon at four o’clock by her pastor, Rev. Allen W. Linthicum, and Rev. R.H. Marks.
