All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ DELIA FRANCES BUNN Miss Delia Frances Bunn, age 70 years, died at her home in Newsoms Friday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. She was the daughter of the late John Councill and Elizabeth Bunn and is survived by one brother, John N. Bunn of Newsoms, and several nieces and nephews. She spent her entire life in the town and community. She was a member of Newsoms Methodist Church and until failing health was a faithful attendant at its services. She was a member of the Ladies Bible Class, the Missionary Auxiliary and the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union. "Miss Delia" as she was known by her many friends was a woman of unassuming manners. To know her was to love her. Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church Sunday morning at 11 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. C.F. Moseley, assisted by Rev. C.P. Cleveland, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church. The choir sang "Home of the Soul" and "Sweet Bye and Bye." Mrs. E.J. Coggsdale and Miss Olivia Holloman sang as a duet, "The Old Rugged Cross." "Safe In the Arms of Jesus" was sung at the grave. Active pallbearers were: J.C. Bunn, R.A. Bunn, B.L. Bunn, Gladstone Story, H.H. Shaw, Jr., M.H. Ferrell, R.D. Beale, Jr. and H.T. Waff. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
