All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOHN NORMAN BUNN John Norman Bunn, 86, well-known retired farmer of Newsoms, died at his home on Sunday afternoon, October 5, after several years of failing health. A member of the Newsoms Methodist Church, Mr. Bunn was the husband of the late Mrs. Laura Addie Porter Bunn and son of the late John Councill and Elizabeth Vick Bunn of Southampton County. Surviving him are six daughters, Mrs. Fannie B. Spain of Newsoms, Mrs. Ruby B. Fowler of Boykins, Mrs. Ethel B. Saunders of Franklin, and Mrs. Evelyn B. Ferrell, Mrs. Gladys B. Shaw and Mrs. Bernice B. Decker, all of Portsmouth; four sons, Ray Bunn of Boykins, Edward D. Bunn of Baltimore, Md., and Jack C. and Bennie L. Bunn, both of Newsoms; and 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Bunn were conducted at the grave in Newsoms Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Rev. R.B. Moore, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church, Rev. John W. Morrison of Urbanna, a former pastor, and Rev. R.L. Chadwick, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church. The pallbearers were Walter Bowers, J.C. Bunn, Jr., Raymond Bunn, Mallory Ferrell, Jr., Thomas Milton, Howard Story, David Sykes and Carl Tippett.
