A native of Prince Edward County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. William E. Grant of Petersburg and the widow of Harry Lee Bain of Capron United Methodist Church and a teacher in the Sunday school for many years. She attended Littleton College, Littleton, N.C., Blackstone Female Institute and Randolph-Macon Women’s College. Survivors include a son, H. Lee Bain, Jr. of Capron; two daughters, Mrs. Robert W. Day and Mrs. Charles S. Keiner, both of Richmond, two brothers, James M. Grant of Petersburg and John W. Grant of Penns Grove, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. J.G. Dinwiddie of Waynesboro, Mrs. S.T. Gaddy and Mrs. P.W. Smith, both of Capron; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Capron United Methodist Church by the Rev. Glen Langston. Burial in the Capron Cemetery. The family suggest that memorials be made to the Capron United Methodist Church or to the Scholarship Fund of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Lynchburg.
