Bennett, 58, well-known resident of the South Quay community, died suddenly Wednesday of a heart attack. He was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah Daughtrey Bennett, of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of South Quay Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Bertha Bennett, and one son, Joseph Warren Bennett, both of Carrsville. Funeral services were conducted in the Holland Funeral Home chapel Friday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Phillip Jenkins, pastor of the South Quay Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Daughtrey, Robert Daughtrey, Clayton Darden, Johnnie Carr, Lee Carr, Spencer Carr, Dallas Carr and James Carr.
