She was born in Norfolk and was a daughter of the late Pearley Vereen Baker and Anna Jones Baker Woodard [sic; Woolard*]. Survivors include a daughter, Sherry O'Berry and her husband, Mark, of Courtland; a son, Keith Bennett of Franklin; a sister, Carol B. Best of Williamsburg; two brothers, William E. Baker of Chester and Sidney V. Baker of Franklin; and a grandchild, Jessica. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, and suggests that memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Pembroke 4, 291 Independence Blvd., Suite 232, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
