Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Pallbearers were Joe Brittle, Cooper Pope Gillette, Richard Ricks Jr., Frank Ricks, Levius Cox and Edward Spivey. Mrs. Banty, 77, died Sunday in a Rich Square, N.C., convalescent home. A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Clarksbury Methodist Church, Boykins. Surviving are her husband, Vernon S. Banty of Rich Square; four daughters, Mrs. Bruce Braswell and Mrs. Joe B. Harris of Emporia, Mrs. Moncure Story of Boykins, and Mrs. Nathan Francis of Conway, N.C.; two sons, Edward Banty of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Robert Lee Banty of Berwyn, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
