Banty, died March 11, 1973. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frances Puglisi, Jetersville, Va.; one son, David T. Banty, Capron; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie L. Thompson, Mrs. Janie Griffin, both of Capron, Mrs. Willie Whitehurst, Deep Creek and Tom Pope of Richmond; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Remains rest at Echols Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday with interment in Capron Cemetery ****************************************************************************** MARY FRANCES POPE BANTY CAPRON - A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Pope Banty, 66, was held at Echols Funeral Home, Emporia, March 14. The afternoon service was conducted by Rev. Paul Worrell of Clarksbury Baptist Church and Rev. Eugene Jones of Capron United Methodist Church. Pallbearers for the burial in Capron Cemetery was Paul Kirkland, Pete Barham, Gilbert Francis, Harold Drake, Richard Ricks, Charlie Settle, Vernie Francis and Roland Vaughan Mrs. Banty, the widow of Richard L. Banty died Sunday, March 11th in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a short illness. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Benjamin L. and Mrs. Virginia Bryant Pope. She was a member of Clarksbury Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frances B. Puglist of Jetersville; a son, David T. Banty of Capron; three sisters, Mrs. Janie P. Griffin, Mrs. Bessie P. Thompson of Capron, Mrs. Willie P. Whitehurst of Chesapeake; two brothers, Thomas E. Pope of Richmond; Joseph N. Pope of Chesapeake, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
