All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ VIRGINIA BABB BENNETT Mrs. Virginia Babb Bennett, 42, a resident of the Carrsville community, died in Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk, at 6:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, February 18. The deceased was the daughter of O.M. and Maggie Scott Babb of Isle of Wight County, and was a member of the South Quay Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Joseph James Bennett of Carrsville; one daughter, Mary Bertha Bennett, and one son, Joseph Warren Bennett, both of Carrsville; and one sister, Mrs. Shirley Mae Duck, also of Carrsville. Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett were conducted from the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, pastor of Beaver Dan Baptist Church, and Rev. R.D. Stephenson, interim pastor of South Quay Baptist Church. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.P. Carr, W.O. Carr, Clayton Darden, Edward Darden, Bennie Duck, Edward Lankford, Wilson Miles and Melvin Spivey. Virginia (BABB; Mrs. Joseph J.)
