ANNIE C. POWELL BEAMAN*

   Mrs. Annie Powell Beaman, widow of the late Walter E. Beaman of this town, 
died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.C. Paschal, in 
Washington, N.C.  Mrs. Beaman who made her home in Franklin many years, was 
the daughter of the late Samuel and Mrs. Lorena Powell of Murfreesboro and was 
educated at Chowan College in that town.  She is survived by three sons, J. 
Fenton Beaman of Jackson, N.C., Herbert Beaman of Franklin and Robert Beaman 
of Suffolk; by three daughters, Mrs. C.B. Atwell of Kinsale, Va., Mrs. John 
Covington of Suffolk and Mrs. H.C. Paschal of Washington, N.C., and ten 
grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held from the Franklin Baptist Church Monday 
afternoon at 4  o’clock, burial following in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
