BEAMAN Luther Edwards Beaman, the son of Mrs. Ellen B. Beaman and the late L.T. Beaman, was born in Franklin, Va., May 30, 1886, and died in California May 13, 1918. The writer, who had the privilege of knowing him for only a few months, remembers him as a splendid young man, courteous, refined and of exceptionally agreeable personality, and his townspeople knew him and loved him for those estimable and sterling traits of character which won firends and recognition for him wherever he made his home. Entering Richmond College in the fall of 1904, he was compelled to relinquish his college career after two years on account of his health and in July 1906 he left Franklin for Denver, Colorado, where he held a responsible position with the Fairbanks-Morse company until his death. On September 6, 1911, he married Miss Ina V. Ramsey of Greely, Colorado, one of the State's most charming and accomplished young women, and in 1912 moved to California where he was still employed by the Fairbanks-Morse Company. His health began to decline in March of this year and he rapidly grew worse, the spirit taking its flight on Monday of this week. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children, Betty, age four, and an infant son; by his mother, Mrs Ellen Beaman of Franklin; four brothers, J.B. Beaman of South Hill, Va., Sergeant J. Hunter Beaman, U.S.A. of Camp Lewis, Washington; Albert G. Beaman and Walter C. Beaman of Franklin; three sisters, Miss Sadie Beaman, Mrs. W.F. Hart and Pattie Beaman of Franklin, besides a number of relatives and a wide circle of relatives and a wide circle of friends here, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of our people in their bereavement.
