It is not known exactly how the fatal accident occurred; but the windows of the death car were closed at the time of the collision, and it is believed the victim did not hear the warning blast from the locomotive. Bailey of Sedley, Mrs. P.B. Davis of Sebrell, Mrs. R.M. Knight of Wakefield and Mrs. Carroll Vaughan of Franklin; and one brother, C.C. Howell of Smithfield.
