Mr. Brooks, a native of King and Queen County, retired from Hercules Powder Co., Franklin. He was a member of Sebrell United Methodist Church and the worshipful master of Courtland Masonic Lodge 85. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Westbrook Brooks; two daughters, Elleen B. Romer of Colonial Heights and Silvia B. Clarke of Sandston; a son, Adrian E. Brooks of Courtland; and five grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted Saturday in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Weldon White. Memorial donations may be made to the Courtland Rescue Squad. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin handled arrangements.
