CLYDE W. BURGESS BURIED YESTERDAY Funeral services for Mrs. Ellie Coggsdale Burgess were held yesterday (Sunday) afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Hunterdale Christian Church by the Rev. Joe French, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Melvin Dollar of Newport News and the Rev. Stanley C. Burgess of Richmond. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edgar Blythe, --- Vaughan, Jesse Gardner, Ben Kitchen, S.M. Joyner, Leroy Allen and Russell Britt. Mrs. Burgess, 67, well known resident of the Hunterdale community, died early Friday morning in Raiford Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months. She was the wife of Clyde W. Burgess and the daughter of James E. and Mrs. Antoinette Holland Coggsdale of Southampton County. She was a member of the Hunterdale Christian Church and active in church organizations. Surviving, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Helen Burgess Newsoms of Franklin; three sons, the Rev. Stanley C. Burgess, pastor of Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church, Richmond; Hubert H. Burgess of Franklin and Clyde W. Burgess, Jr., of Miami, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. W.J. Burgess and Mrs. Sadie Bryant, both of Courtland; Mrs. Katie Bryant of Franklin and Mrs. L.R. Bracey of Ivor; four brothers, L.R. Coggsdale of Franklin; Joe Coggsdale of Suffolk; Ray Coggsdale of Courtland and William Coggsdale of Roanoke Rapids. Ellie Estelle (COGGSDALE; Mrs. Clyde W.)
