Reported Death By Freezing - Horribly 
       Burned - Crushed to Death.
 (Special telegram to the Dispatch.) 

  NORFOLK, VA., January 26.-

  On Thursday a man named Burgess was killed at Newsom's Depot, 
in Southampton county, by having his head caught between the 
band and a fly-wheel of a cotton-gin at that place.  His head 
was crushed, causing instant death.

He does not appear in the Southampton Co. Death Records (1853-1890).
