Burgess, 68, widow of the late G.W. Burgess, died Thursday morning at her residence in Capron after an illness of eight months. Mrs. Burgess is survived by seven daughters: Mrs. M.A. Pierce, Capron; Mrs. P.B. Edwards, Joyner; Mrs. H.O. Marks, Norfolk; Mrs. P.D. Barham, Capron; Misses Bessie, Hope and Frances Burgess, Capron; two sons Reuben Burgess, Capron and Will Burgess, Pittsfield, Mass; one brother, Jacob P. Cox, Boykins, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 3 o’clock this (Friday) afternoon at the home by the Rev. Clifford Ramsey, assisted by the Rev. R.H. Marks of Union Level. Virginia A. (COX; Mrs. George W.)
