BRISTOW Near Black Creek church, Southampton County, Va., aged 2 years, 6 months and 22 days, at 10 to 3 p.m., January 3d, 1890, the spirit of little Withie C. Bristow, eldest child of J.C. and M.A. Bristow, took its flight from earth to join the host of little angels in heaven. She contracted croup and nothing that could be done for her by physician, loving friends, and devoted parents seemed to alleviate her sufferings. She was truly an idol of the household. Endowed with a gentle disposition which she exemplified by so many little acts of kindness that she had not only won the devotion of her parents but of all with whom she was associated. From almost her earliest days she exhibited an extreme parental love, especially for her papa. Being almost his constant companion at all times, her devotion to him had grown to a great degree of existence. Dear little Withie you were only too pure for earth, and our Saviour saw fit to transplant your little spirit in a more genial clime. While our affections have been severed for a while, yet we entertain a hope that we shall meet again in the "sweet bye and bye" where good bye is never said and parting is no more. Farwell little Withie we will meet thee/ When this trouble life is over;/ Then in Heaven we will greet thee,/ Where we meet to part no more. Parents Withie C.
