William Orlando Bristow, Jr., 69, of Lynchburg, died September 2, 1975. Mr. Bristow was born in Franklin, Va., the son of the late William Orlando Bristow Sr. and Katherine K. Bryant; a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church; a graduate with Master’s Degree from University of Virginia in 1932; a member of the PHI gamma Delta Fraternity; a member of the Ravell Society of the University; a member of the Norfolk Yacht Club; a member of the Princess Anne County Club; a member of the Farmington Country Club; a member of the Boonesboro Country Club; retired commander U.S. Navy with Naval Intelligence. Mr. Bristow was in the invasion of Normandy in Southern France. He was retired from the Gulf Oil Corporation. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Brent Bristow; two sisters, Mrs. George E. Pillow and Mrs. Lee Davis, both of Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted from St. John’s Episcopal Church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Graveside service will be conducted in the Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, Thursday 2 p.m. Diuguid Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
