She was a consistent member of the Methodist Church, loyal to its organizations and to the W.C.T.U., a woman of high integrity, unassuming in the place she filled in the life of wife, mother and friend. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. B.W. Eley of Zuni; two sons, T.D. Barker of Columbia, S.C., and F.N. Barker of Courtland; one sister, Mrs. C.P. Robinson of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren; one niece, Mrs. Ella S. Wilbur, and one nephew, Willie Smithson of Norfolk. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the home of her son, F.N. Barker, by her pastor, Rev. W.W. Beasley, assisted by Rev. Gordon L. Price of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Rev. George Kissinger of Ivor. The hymns, "Abide With Me" and "Asleep In Jesus" were sung by the Methodist choir and a solo, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," was sung by Mrs. C.W. Parker during the services. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery with T.B. Bell, Spratley Rollings, J.N. Barker, Herman Rollings, Thomas Barker and Dudley Rollings as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were stewards of the Methodist Church and friends of the family. A pall of lilies, white rosebuds and lavender tulips and numerous floral designs covered the grave.
