Barker, 71, died at his home in Courtland Wednesday after an illness of many months. Mr. Barker was a native of Southampton County and an active member of the Courtland M.E. Church. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Miss Belle Barker of Courtland; three sons, F.N. Barker of Courtland, B.B. Barker of Drivers and T.D. Barker of Columbia, S.C., six sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were held from his late residence Thursday afternoon with Rev. H.F. Turner officiating, interment being made in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The active pallbearers were: C.W. Parker, Chas. Rowe, T.B. Bell, O.M. Joyner, W.T. Pittman, F.L. Davis, Nicholas Barker and Spratley Rollings. Honorary bearers were members of the Wesley Bible Class of the Courtland M.E. Church.
