All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALFRED BYRD Alfred Byrd, aged 50, of Murfreesboro, and a native of Franklin, died of a sudden heart of Franklin, died of a sudden heart attack early Thursday night while he was walking from his home to a softball park. He was the son of the late J.R. Byrd and Mrs. Harriett Elizabeth Byrd, of Franklin. He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Gladys Parker Byrd; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Byrd Britt and Miss Barbara Byrd, all of Murfreesboro; two sons, Edward Byrd, of Baltimore, and Ivan Byrd, of Hawaii; four brothers, Emmett Byrd, Oscar Byrd and Edward Byrd, all of Franklin, and Jesse Ray Byrd of Alexandria, Va., and a sister, Mrs. E.H. Bell, of Alexandria. The body was taken to the Holland Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, pending funeral arrangements.
