Britt, 70, of West Main Street, died Tuesday in a Richmond hospital. He was a native of Southampton County. He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad as a railroad foreman after 32 years. He was a member of Waverly United Methodist Church and the England-Parson American Legion Post 191. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Frances Bailey Britt; two sons, Daniel L. Britt and Ronald C. Britt, both of Richmond; three sisters, Helen Fowler of Franklin, Tiney B. Holt of Smithfield and Dolly Crocker of Windsor; five brothers, Boney J. Britt of Wakefield, Delano L. Britt of Arlington; Thomas J. Britt of Windsor, John A. Britt of Ivor and P. Mack Britt of Wakefield; and a grandaughter. The funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Purvivance Funeral Home by the Rev. George Stuart. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society. Clifton L.
