He was a native of Southampton and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 139, Arlington. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Esther Savage of Surry, Mrs. Nokomis Noblin of Hopewell, and Mrs. Geneva Jenkins of Annadale; and three brothers, Thomas Briggs Britt of Richmond, Lloyd Jefferson Britt of Suffolk, and Wilson Eugene Britt of Windsor. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church by the Rev. J.W. Horne. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from R.W. Baker Funeral Home to the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
