All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FRANK THOMAS BRETT Portsmouth - Frank Thomas Brett, 85, of 803 Dinwiddie Street, died yesterday at 12:15 p.m. in a Portsmouth hospital after a short illness. Mr. Brett was a retired boilermaker for the Seaboard Airline Railroad. He was the widower of Agnes Lavonia Brett and son of the late William C. and Rosa Railey Brett. He was a native of Southampton County, but had lived in Portsmouth for the past 60 years. Mr. Brett was a member of South Street Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jack C. Harrell and Mrs. Harrell King, of Portsmouth; a son, Lawrence E. Brett, Sr., of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. B.E. Parker and Mrs. W.R. Chitty, of Suffolk, and a brother, J.C. Brett, of Como, N.C. The body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
