Emmett Byrd of this town, died Tuesday afternoon at her home in Bogart Avenue, after a brief illness. Besides her husband, Mrs. Byrd is survived by two sons, R.E., Jr. and Jack Byrd, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H.* Tynes of Roxobel, N.C., a sister, Miss Grace Tynes of Jackson, N.C., a sister, Miss Grace Tynes of Jackson, N.C., and three brothers, C.C. Tynes of Hobgood and E.E. and Pete Tynes of Kelford, N.C. Services were held from the residence Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock, conducted by her Pastor, Rev. A. McK. Reynolds, of High Street M.E. Church. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery here. Pallbearers were Richmond Peters, Ezra Gray, J.F. Sandlin, Geo. H. Parker, Harry Steinhardt, David Lawrence, L.A. Whitley and Dr. A.P. Cutchin.
