Brett of the Franklin community, died last Friday morning after an illness of many years. She was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Stith Louis and Mrs. Trameldia [sic; Traemelia*] Frances Ferguson of Newsoms. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Odell G. Nixon of New York, Mrs. Effie C. Edwards and Mrs. Elma C. Edwards of Newsoms; one son, Elvin Brett of Franklin; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary R. Gray, of Newsoms, a brother, Percy F. Ferguson, of Newsoms, besides nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Newsoms Baptist Church with services by her pastor, Rev. R.C. Wells, burial being made in the Newsoms Cemetery.
