Britt Buried Friday Funeral services for George R. Britt, aged 76 [sic*], well known farmer of Southampton County, were conducted Friday at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D.S. Barrett, in Littleton, N.C., and burial was in Tucker Swamp Cemetery. Active pallbearers were W.E. and Josie Eppes, D.S. Barrett, S.F. Garrett, Alvin Mitchell, and L.R. Denson. Mr. Britt is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Ernest H. Bailey of Nansemond County; Mrs. Alvin Mitchell, of Newport News; Mrs. W.F. Epps, of Surry; Mrs. Minnie Price, of Bacons Castle; Mrs. S.F. Garrett, of Plymouth, N.C., and Mrs. D.S. Barrett, of Littleton, N.C.; four sons, Willie, Charlie, and Sherlock Britt, of Portsmouth and Hugh Britt, of Littleton, N.C., 49 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His first wife, "Lena" Sarah Evelena Frances (BRANCH) BRITT (1868-1923) is buried in a BRITT family cemetery, New Rd.
