Mrs. Byrd was the widow of the late J.R. Byrd and is survived by five sons - C. Oscar Byrd, R.E. Byrd and S.E. Byrd of Franklin, Alfred Byrd of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Jesse Ray Byrd of Washington, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl H. Bell, also of Washington. Mrs. Byrd was 70. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. ****************************************************************************** HARRIET ELIZABETH PARKER BYRD Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Elizabeth Byrd, widow of the late J.R. Byrd, who died at the age of 70 at her home here last Friday morning, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home, burial following in Poplar Spring Cemetery here. Member of the choir of High Street M.E. Church, with which Mrs. Byrd was long and actively affiliated, sang during the service, conducted by Rev. A. McK. Reynold, her pastor, assisted by Rev. R.E. Brittle of Suffolk. Active pallbearers were Ezra F. Gray, R.C. Branch, Richmond Peters, W.T. Pace, J.H. Boyd, Harry Steinhardt, Geo. H. Parker and Edgar Weede. Mrs. Byrd is survived by five sons, C. Oscar, R.E. and S.E. Byrd of Franklin, Alfred Byrd of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Jesse Ray Byrd of Washington; one daughter, Mrs. Earl H. Bell of Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. J.T. Britton and Mrs. Maria Worrell, both of Holland. Harriet Elizabeth (PARKER; Mrs. James R.)
