Barrett, 66, of 3607 Brighton Street, Westhaven, died Monday afternoon at a Portsmouth hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Southampton County, the son of the late George H. and Mrs. Virginia C. Barrett, and a retired farmer. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Parker, of Branchville, and Mrs. C.W. Newton, of Portsmouth; a niece, Mrs. L.E. Bryson; a nephew, C.W. Newton, Jr., and a brother, B.I. Barrett, of Portsmouth. Mr. Barrett held a membership in Port Norfolk Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Snellings Funeral Home. Burial will be Olive Branch Cemetery.
