JOHN SAMSON BRITT

   Funeral services for John Samson Britt, 76, who died Monday, September 17, 
in Patrick Henry Hospital, were held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.in the Purviance 
Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, with Rev. R.A. Richardson officiating. 

   Mr. Britt was a native of Isle of Wight County and a lifelong resident of 
the Zuni Community.  He wa a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. 

   Survivors are a sister, Mrs. John Powell of Zuni; two half sisters, Mrs. 
Alma Bryant of Zuni and Mrs. Emie Powell fo Suffolk; a step-mother, Mrs. Sallie 
Britt of Zuni, and several nieces and nephews. 

   Burial was in Tucker Swamp Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Phillip 
Worrell, Ray Clark, Harold West, Roger Britt, James Joyner, Willie Brown, 
Hurley Clark and Paul Joyner.  Friends of the family served as honorary 
pallbearers.
