BRITT Miss Laura M. Britt, 68, a lifelong resident of Zuni, died on Sunday morning, July 22, at the home near Myrtle of her cousin, Mrs. E.H. Bailey, after an illness of many months. Miss Britt was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Mattie Crumpler Britt of Isle of Wight county. A member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, she was for many years a teacher in the school for the deaf and blind at Hampton. Surviving her are three sisters, Mrs. John Powell and Mrs. Alma Bryant, both of Zuni, and Mrs. Emmie Powell of Suffolk; one brother, John Britt of Zuni; her stepmother, Mrs. Sallie H. Britt of Zuni; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Miss Britt were held at the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. L.E. Holzbach officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, the pallbearers being Roger Britt, Willie Brown, Frank Clark, Hoen Edwards, Talmadge Edwards and Phillip Worrell.
