Barrett of the Statesville community, died at the home of her parents May 21, aged 27 months, after a brief illness. She was a charming baby and the light of the home which she had blessed for such a short time. The entire community sympathizes with Mr. and Mrs. Barrett in the bereavement which has been visited upon them. And in this, life’s darkest hour, they are commended to the consolation of the Heavenly Father who said "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven". Sunday afternoon, May 22, a large concourse of sympathizing friends gathered at the stricken home and the lovely little form was laid to rest in the family cemetery, with a wealth of spring flowers covering the timy mound as a symbol even to tear-dimmed eyes and aching hearts of the fairness of that celestial city whose builder and maker is God where the little one now abides in joy, forever free from all the sorrow and pain which are attendant upon our earthly existence. Rev. C.H. Kidd of Newsoms conducted the services and the pallbearers were four uncles, R.E. and Leroy Barrett, W.E. and S.J. Myrick. Nannie Myrick BARRETT, daughter of Harry G. & Eunice D.
