ROBERT GLENN BRITT

   IVOR - A funeral service for Robert Glenn Britt, 22, was held Friday 
at 2:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. J.L. 
Buckingham.  Burial was in Ivor Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were: Robbie McEwen, Ken Chesson, Chris King, Keith Harver, 
Jay Bradshaw, Ricky Rawls, Randy Carr, Sion Carr, Eddie Webb, Ronnie Wade, 
and Mack Beale.

   Britt was fatally injured in an automobile accident near Franklin 
Wednesday night.

   A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Dempsey R. Britt Sr. 
and Becky Owney Britt of Ivor.  He was a member of Ivor Baptist Church and 
an employee of Smithfield Packing Co.

   Other survivors include two brothers, D. Ray Britt, Jr., and Roland N. 
Britt; and a sister Miss Deborah Ann Britt, all of Ivor; maternal 
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Waverly H. Owney Sr. of Smithfield; and great-
grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie C. Carr of Suffolk.
