BRITT Mrs. Sallie Hall Britt, 85, died Tuesday, January 22, at 8:15 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emily Powell, in Suffolk. Funeral services were conducted today (Thursday) at 3 p..m. at the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield. Burial was in the family plot at Tucker's Swamp Church. Mrs. Britt, widow of Robert E. Britt, was the daughter of James W. Hall and his first wife, Jodie Watkins. Mr. Hall, a confederate veteran, then living in Savannah, Ga., died in Suffolk in 1920 while visiting relatives. Mrs. Britt was educated at the Suffolk College, under the late Miss Finney, 1880-1885. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edgar Bryant of Zuni and Mrs. James Powell of Suffolk; two grandsons, Warren Britt of Richmond and Robert Britt, now serving with the Elsworth Air Force in Rapid City, N.C.; three half-sisters, Misses Kate and Lucy Hall of Savannah and Mrs. Mary P. Brownell of Sarasota, Fla., and a half-brother, J. Harwood Hall, of Hollywood, Calif. [Sallie (HALL; Mrs. Robert E.)
