J. Waverly Horne. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, in charge. Pallbearers were: M.N. Holt, Talmage Edwards, Sam Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, Burley Fowler, Ben Mumford, Ronnie West and Harold West. Britt died Sunday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Gessie Hodge Britt. He was a retired plumber and pipe fitter and was a member of Plumbers Union Local 5, Washington, and Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Other survivors include a son, Wilson E. Britt, Jr. of Earlysville; two daughters, Elsie B. Wright of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Margaret Ann Britt of Charlottesville; two brothers, Thomas Briggs Britt of Richmond and Lloyd Jefferson Britt of Suffolk; three sisters, Ester B. Savage of Spring Grove, Nokomas B. Noblin of Hopewell and Geneva Jenkins of Manassas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Life Center Building Fund, Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, or Windsor Rescue Squad.
