C.P. Cleveland, pastor of the church. The hymns "Sometime We’ll Understand" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" were used in the service. Camp 144, Woodmen of the World of Ivor, with which the deceased was affiliated, took part in the service. Active pallbearers were Charlie Ramsey, Claude A. Nurney, Tom Jones, Tom Brown, Levy Brown and Bill Johnson. Britt, who was eighteen years old, was the son of Mrs. Pearl Britt and the late W.R. Britt, and had been living with his mother near Ivor, where he was successfully engaged in farming. A possible motive for his actions was found in the presence of a note hinting of a youthful disappointment in love. The body was taken to the funeral home of H.M. Purviance in Boykins for burial preparations. He is survived by his mother, and four sisters, Misses Mary Elizabeth, Dorothy, Mildred and Eunice Britt.
